Shura Council chairman hails GAP endorsement

Manama, Jan. 29(BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh hailed the endorsement of the Government Action Plan (GAP) at the weekly session of the Council of Representatives. "The roadmap will be the basis for new plans and goals aimed to attain more political, economic and social achievements and ensure better living standards for citizens", he said. He extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. He also congratulated the Council of Representatives Speaker Fawziya bint Abdulla Zainal, Mps and the people of Bahrain on the endorsement of the four-year GAP-2019-2022. He stressed the importance of cooperation to implement the programme, themed "Sustainable Economic and Social Security and Fiscal Stability", so as to address the future challenges. "The Shura Council will cooperate with the Council of Representatives to pass legislations and laws that consolidate the sustainability of pension funds so that they could meet their commitments towards future generations", he said. The Shura Council Chairman underscored the importance of supporting the General Organisation for Social Insurance (GOSI) and implement the necessary measures to reduce the actuarial deficit.
