Shura Council condemns mass shootings at New Zealand mosques

Manama, Mar.16 (BNA): The Shura Council strongly condemned the terrorist mass shootings which targeted two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, leaving dozens of worshipers dead and others injured. It prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the deceased’s souls in eternal peace and wished the wounded worshipers quick recovery. It denounced the scourge of terrorism and extremism which goes against all religious principles and moral values. The council urged international concerted efforts to root out terrorism and extremist ideologies so as to protect human rights and ensure human beings’ safety. It reiterated Bahrain’s rejection of violence, extremism and terrorism as stressed in the statement by the Foreign Ministry, which expressed solidarity with New Zealand in combating terrorism to protect citizens and residents’ security and residents.
