Shura Council congratulates Bahraini, Arab women

Manama, Feb. 1 (BNA): The Shura Council has extended deepest congratulations to Bahrain and Arab women, marking the Arab Women’s Day, celebrated today, valuing highly the contributions of women to building and advancing society in various fields. In a statement, the Shura Council saluted Arab women for the sacrifices they have made for the sake of gaining their rights. It also praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s initiatives to advance Bahraini women, through steps and procedures implemented by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. Thanks to this, the statement said, Bahraini women have become partners in the decision-making process, as stipulated in the Constitution and the National Action Charter, in appreciation for the role they play in developing all sectors. The Shura Council paid tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, hailing the major role she has played in advancing Bahraini women in all fields. It also affirmed that it will carry on its efforts aimed at supporting Bahraini women, through enacting the necessary laws and legislation.
