Shura Council congratulates Bahraini women

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): The Shura Council has extended deepest congratulations to every Bahraini women who has been dedicated in the service of the nation and contributed to its comprehensive development march as a result of the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, as well as the unwavering interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. In a statement marking the kingdom’s celebrations of the Bahraini Women’s Day 2018, themed “Women in the Legislative Field and Municipal Work”, the Shura Council said that Bahraini women have become the cornerstone of the kingdom’s progress, and contributed significantly to placing the kingdom on regional and international map, and therefore, they deserve to be honoured at the national level. The Bahraini Women’s Day is an opportunity to highlight women’s constant keenness to succeed and determination to avail of the government’s support to them to prove their distinction in various fields, the statement said. The Shura Council expressed pride in the landmark contributions of Bahraini women to the legislative field, and valued highly their successful municipal work aimed at serving the citizens and enhancing the kingdom's progress march. The council also lauded the Bahraini women’s political awareness, and keenness to participate in the political life in the kingdom through the Legislative Branch and municipal councils, as reflected in the great number of candidates in the parliamentary and municipal elections 2018, extending sincere congratulations to women candidates who won the voters’ confidence.
