Shura Council elections held

Manama, Oct. 16(BNA): Shura Council member Jamal Fakhro has been elected as first deputy chairman. Mr. Fakhro, who has been holding the position for fifteen years, obtained 22 votes, while his rival Dalal Al-Zayed received 17 votes. Shura Council member Jameela Salman has also been elected as second deputy chairperson. Salman won by a sweeping majority, totaling 27 votes, while rivals Sawsan Taqawi and Ahmed Alarrayed obtained 7 and 5 votes respectively.
