Shura Council hails British parliament's decision on Hizbollah

Manama, Mar. 1 (BNA): The Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign, Defence and National Security Affairs hailed the British parliament’s ratification of a government draft resolution to classify the militias of Hizbollah, with its political and military wings, as a terrorist organisation. It described the resolution as important in supporting regional and international counter-terrorism efforts. The committee lauded the United Kingdom’s efforts in taking the strategic decision, stressing that the stances of Hizbollah militias posed clear threats to international peace and security, mainly in light of Hizbollah’s support to terrorist groups in many countries in the region. The committee praised the Foreign Ministry’s statement in this regard which reflects the unwavering stance of the Kingdom of Bahrain in fighting terrorism and extremism. It called to boost international cooperation to root out this dangerous international phenomenon.
