Shura Council slams Al Sadr's statement

Manama, Apr. 28 (BNA): The Shura Council strongly condemned the statement of Muqtada Al Sadr in which he mentioned the Kingdom of Bahrain. It considered the statement as an unacceptable insult to the kingdom of Bahrain and its leadership, a blatant interference in the country's internal affairs, an obvious violation of international law and conventions and an abuse of the nature of relations between Bahrain and Iraq. The council lauded historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Iraq and demanded the Iraqi government to confront those provocative voices and deter those crises-causing stances. It stressed its categorical rejection of any form of abuse or interference in the kingdom's affairs by any individual or party.
