Shura First Deputy Chairman receives US Chief of Mission

Manama, Sept. 23 (BNA): Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro received in his office today US Chief of Mission to Bahrain Margaret Nardy. He praised strategic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA and growing cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields. He also expressed the Shura Council’s appreciation of the US efforts to promote peace in the region which culminated in the signing of the declaration for supporting peace between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel. He stressed the Shura Council’s support to the sovereign decision taken by His Majesty the King which underscores keenness to promote peace and coexistence as a strategic option for Bahrain in its international relations. The Shura Council First Deputy Chairman underlined Bahrain’s steadfast stance in supporting the Palestinian cause according to the Arab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of the international legitimacy. He also spotlighted the preemptive initiatives taken by the kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince, to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The US Chief of mission commended the kingdom’s exceptional and advanced efforts in fighting the disease and providing healthcare for all citizens and residents in Bahrain. She noted that countries in the world have dealt with the pandemic in different ways but Bahrain’s experience remains pioneering and generous. She wished bilateral relations further growth to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
