Shura: Manama Dialogue important forum for discussing issues related to promoting peace

Manama, Nov. 21 (BNA): The Shura Council has praised the Manama Dialogue as an important forum for interaction and dialogues over issues related to spreading peace and achieving security and stability regionally and internationally. The Manama Dialogue, organized annually by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affair, brings together more than 300 policy and decision makers from 40 countries across the globe for three days of panel discussions and bilateral and multilateral meetings. In a statement, the Shura expressed pride in the speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as HM received senior officials participating in the Manama Dialogue and HM's stress on Bahrain's commitment to peace, dialogue and coexistence. The Shura said that holding the dialogue in Bahrain, despite the Coronavirus pandemic, is strong evidence of the Kingdom’s ability to confront the virus, thanks to the national endeavors and dedication, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister. The outstanding dedication has made the Kingdom a successful model in addressing the pandemic that has won international praise. The Manama Dialogue is among the most prominent international forums attended by intellectual, political, security and military leaders from various countries, the statement said. The dialogue contributes to addressing security and political challenges in the region, and calls for implementing more peace and reform initiatives as the basis for progress and development in all countries, it added. The Shura commended Bahrain's significant role under the leadership of HM the King as well as the Kingdom's continuous support for efforts and initiatives aimed at spreading peace between countries and peoples.
