Singer expresses delight at cooperating with HH Shaikh Nasser

Manama, June 14 (BNA): HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has stressed that the Arab song is on the right track to develop steadily and reach an international level thanks to the distinguished Arab singers and poets. Commenting on his poem, “Jitni Maksoor” (You Came to Me Broken-hearted), which was sung by artist Assala Nasri and composed by Ahmed Al-Harmi, HH Shaikh Nasser said that the poet and the singer are two sides of one coin, as they strive to ensure the success of the Arab song and help it reach the international level. HH Shaikh Nasser noted that the new song adds to his close cooperation with singer, Assala Nasri, adding that he was keen to write a poem whose words appeal to the Arab listeners. He stressed that Assala Nasri is among the most prominent Arab singers, with an excellent voice that is capable of attracting a wider audience. He added that Assala Nasri has translated the poem into a perfect song that would appeal to listeners. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed appreciation for the members of the team for the tremendous efforts they have exerted to ensure the success of the song. HH Shaikh Nasser had directed the production of a video clip for the song, and a specialised team will start producing a unique video clip that carries the ideas that are embedded in the poem. The production team has contacted Radio Bahrain to air the song and distribute it to Arab radio stations to broadcast it on a large scale. Singer Assala Nasri expressed delight at her cooperation with HH Shaikh Nasser, who, she said, is among the best poets in the Arab world. “With happiness and pride, I had the honour to sing a song from the poems of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The song has been broadcast. The song emanates from the feelings of a man who has been widely recognised for his good morals. He is the advocate of the oppressed,” she said on her Instagram account.
