SIU annual report presented to advocate general

Manama, Jan. 12 (BNA): Advocate General Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain received Mohammed Khalid Al Hazza, Acting Advocate General and Head of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), who presented the SIU annual report for 2020. Al Fadhl praised the SIU role in protecting human rights within the criminal justice system, carrying out its duties with complete independence in line with the provisions of law and international principles. He also lauded its commitment to national and international behavioral and professional codes related to its work as well as its keenness to develop its professional prerogatives and to provide all legal and procedural guarantees in investigations. Al Hazza said presenting the report to the Advocate General was part of his follow-up on the unit’s action and continuous support to the SIU carry out its responsibilities with transparency, integrity and independence.
