"Smile" Initiative celebrates "Kids R Golden 5" volunteers

Manama, Nov. 7 (BNA): Smile Initiative of Future Society for Youth, aimed at supporting cancer-stricken children and their families, held a special volunteer appreciation ceremony. The event serves to recognize and honor the service contributions of more than 60 dedicated volunteers who personify a healthy, active and giving attitude as well as a lifestyle to serve "Kids R Golden 5 " campaign during the month of September. Chairman of Future Society Sabah AL Zayani praised volunteers’ efforts, he commented, "We have a community that has a big heart and our celebration is a time when we stop and acknowledge a notable group of the many who serve. It is our time to honor them for the backbone of selfless service that benefits us all," "You have contributed effectively to spread childhood cancer awareness through various events that have continued throughout September, You have made a great effort that contributed to the success of the campaign with every privilege, more than 1,500 children visited Seef Mall campaign’s awareness platform, the Walkathon witnessed more than 1,000 participants of different ages and nationalities. This success paves the way for greater success next year and for mobilizing more volunteers for Kids R Golden 6 Campaign." Al Zayani said. Moreover, Al Zayani confirmed that The Kingdom of Bahrain had once again demonstrated, with its governmental, private and civil institutions with its citizens, residents and volunteers proved its commitment to global humanitarian issues including; childhood cancer, that observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
