Societies urged to confront attempts to downplay achievements

Manama, Sep. 25 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa urged political societies to confront attempts to undermine security and stability in Bahrain by responding responsibly at international gatherings to any downplaying of Bahrain's achievements. He praised the pivotal patriotic role of the political societies in raising political awareness and boosting the role of civil society institutions. HRH the Prime Minister was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today members of the National Action Charter Society led by Head of the political bureau Ahmed Juma'a Mubarak. He praised the national role of the non-government organisations (NGOs), being one of the pillars of democracy and political work in Bahrain. HRH the Premier stressed the government's keenness to lay bridges of constructive cooperation with the societies within the framework of institutional integration to serve development goals. He pointed out the need for concerted efforts to preserve national security and stability amid local and regional challenges. He said regional and international developments require that all work on safeguarding national unity and cohesion of the social texture. He stressed the government's keenness to provide every support to the civil society institutions out of awareness of their major role, especially in this phase, in serving the nation and promoting democracy for patriotic ends. HRH the Prime Minister commended the honourable patriotic role of the National Action Charter Society to maintain unity and stability in Bahrain, underlining the government's keenness to support political societies and NGOs with patriotic motives for development. The National Action Charter Society President and members thanked HRH the Premier for his support to the political societies, lauding his valuable directives to back the efforts of the civil society institutions and political associations working for the best interest of the nation and people.
