Solution of problem of seats’ deficit in kindergartens
Almaty, December 03, 2009 (Khabar) - Almaty mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Minister of Education and Science of RK Zhanseit Tuimebayev have inspected development of pre-school organizations in Alamty. Currently the city is provided with preschool educational organizations for 62%. More than 22 000 babies are in queue. During the “direct link” with the President, which was held on November 13, Nursultan Nazarbayev said pre-school organizations are opened everywhere. Construction of 20 kindergartens will be ended this year and approximately 170 kindergartens for 47 thousand children will be created before 2012. But to meet the demand, we need to build 800 kindergartens for 280 persons each.
Many kindergartens have been privatized or rented in the past. As a result of work on returning that began in 2008, 4 buildings of the former kindergartens for 700 places were returned. This work continues in the current year. Now the city officials are seeking funds to buy buildings, which were passed to private ownership. It is supposed to return 7 buildings of the former nursery schools in 2010. The construction of 6 new kindergarten places for 1200 is underway. 4 new private organization of preschool education for 240 places are ready for commissioning. It is planned to build 10 more kindergartens for 600 seats in 2010. Thus, the Alamty mayor says if the pace of construction is continued, the problem of shortage of kindergartens in the city will be resolved within the next three years.
Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Minister of Education and Science of RK:
- I want to say good work is underway in Almaty and 900 new places in pre-school organizations will be opened before the end of this year here. In general, 2 150 places are opened this year.
