Speaker: BIAS affirms Bahrain's distinguished international status

Manama, Nov. 14 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, has stressed that the organisation of the fifth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS 2018) aims to further strengthen Bahrain’s status as a gateway to the Middle East region, a business-attracting country and a logistics hub in the region. Al-Mulla lauded the tremendous efforts exerted by BIAS 2018 Supreme Organising Committee, led by HM the King’s Personal Representative, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as those by the Show’s officials, including the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)’s Royal Bahraini Air Force, and the officials of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. Such efforts are aimed at reaping the fruits of HM the King’s Reform Project whose ultimate goal, he said, is to make development a basis for progress in various sectors. He affirmed that HM the King’s vision and patronage of BIAS have proved the importance of exhibitions in placing the kingdom on the map of international airshows through attracting mega aviation companies and air forces from brotherly and friendly countries. The speaker pointed out that BIAS has achieved major success in a record time compared with other airshows in the world, noting that Bahrain’s success in attracting mega aviation companies reflects Bahrain’s position in the Arabian Gulf as a vital economic centre. He added that Bahrain boasts all sustainable development potentials, which entitles it to attract investments, noting that the kingdom’s continuous hosting of mega international exhibitions, conferences and events will increase its development chances.
