Speaker: Co-existence, pluralism, religious freedom Bahrain's fundamentals

Manama, Mar. 22 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has lauded the civilisational initiatives and quality programmes launched by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence to promote tolerance, dialogue and respect for pluralism, in accordance with a high human vision. These initiatives and programmes affirm the authentic cultural values of the Bahraini society throughout history, as well as the advanced achievements attained by the kingdom in the fields of co-existence, tolerance, peace and religious freedom under the comprehensive development march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This came as she received here today the Secretary-General of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence, Soumaya Meer, and congratulated her on her appointment to her post as per a Royal Order, wishing her every success in carrying out her duties. The speaker expressed deep pride in the success of Bahraini women in reaching leadership positions in various state departments, hailing women’s contributions to enhancing the kingdom’s progress thanks to the interest and care of HM the King. She stressed that Bahraini women have proved their distiguished ability to serve the nation, highlighting the key role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, in advancing Bahraini women.
