Speaker hails late Kuwaiti Amir's rich legacy

Manama, Sept. 30 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has extended her profound condolences and consolation to the brotherly Kuwaiti people, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations over the sad demise of the late Amir of Kuwait, HH Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
She asserted that the Arab and Islamic nations have lost one of their icons, and one of the most prominent advocates of peace, coexistence and tolerance in the world, noting that over the past decades, the late Amir has been a major milestone in supporting the unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in addition to achieving the highest levels of rapprochement and solidarity among Arab countries and peoples, and serving their just causes.
She added that the world takes pride in the late Amir’s rich legacy full of noble humanitarian roles, and tireless efforts to achieve rapprochement and promote dialogue and love among countries and peoples, earning him the respect and appreciation of the International Community.
She indicated that the Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations had grown steadily during the reign of the late Amir, citing his constant keenness to strengthen the historical fraternal bilateral relations and provide all kinds of support to them, out of the two countries’ common goals and shared destiny.
She affirmed that the late HH Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad has, thanks to his statesmanship and wisdom, succeeded in bringing about a quantum leap in his country’s progress march during his reign.
She prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the soul of the late Amir in peace, protect sisterly Kuwait, and guide its leadership on the right path.
