Speaker hails national milestone

Manama, Feb.17 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, hailing his far-sighted wisdom and vision which ranked the Kingdom of Bahrain among pioneering developed countries in the region and the world. She made the statement on the sidelines of the “Charter of Gold” ceremony, which was held this event under the auspices of HM the King marking the 19th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC). “The wide-ranging development march turned Bahrain into an advanced country of law and institutions that foster the values of justice, rights and citizenship”, she said. She stressed the importance of the milestone which bolstered Bahrain’s standing and fostered responsible freedom of expression and democratic practices. She reiterated the keenness of the legislative branch to continue the march of development and modernization, cooperation with the executive branch and support policies and initiatives for Bahrain’s progress and prosperity.
