Speaker hails solid Bahraini-Saudi relations

Manama, Sept. 22 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has stressed the depth of the long-standing brotherly relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, describing them as a distinguished model of cohesion and shared destiny. She emphasised that Saudi Arabia has been, and will remain, the guarantor of the region’s security and stability, as well as the centre for strategic depth, global weight, and wise leadership that advocates and supports the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations. She expressed deep pride in the steady progress of the fraternal Bahraini-Saudi relations across various fields, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, adding that the advanced level reached by the two countries’ ties embodies the distinguished cooperation, solidarity, complementarity, understanding and coordination between them. The speaker extended profound congratulations to the Saudi leadership, government and people marking their country’s 90th National Day, wishing Saudi Arabia further progress and prosperity, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. She indicated that Saudi Arabia’s supportive stances towards Bahrain, under various circumstances, will remain engraved in the memory of the Bahraini people. “We share with the brothers in Saudi Arabia their joy, as their joy is ours, and theirs is ours,” she said. The speaker hailed the pivotal role Saudi Arabia plays in safeguarding the security and stability of the region, in addition to its humanitarian, civilisational and international initiatives, as well as its continuous development accomplishments, led by King Salman and supported by Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud. She highlighted the distinguished relations between Bahrain’s Council of Representatives and the Saudi Shura Council, led by Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh, citing their constant cooperation and coordination at various parliamentary gatherings in order to support the interests of the two brotherly countries. She prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect the “Land of the Two Holy Mosques” and to bless it with ever-lasting security, progress and prosperity.
