Speaker lauds Bahrain, US relations

Manama, Jan. 16 (BNA): The Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam met with a US Senators delegation headed by Congress members Jackie Rosson and James Lankford, in the presence of Shura Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh. The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the Council of Representatives, the Shura Council, and the US Congress. The meeting also discussed issues of common interest, and ways to support cooperation in the economic and trade field. Al Musallam affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to strengthen bilateral relations and ensure international peace and security,. He praised the depth of historical relations between the two countries. He stressed the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthening cooperation in all fields and the continuous efforts to develop Free Trade Agreement and the inauguration of the United States Trade Zone (USTZ) in Bahrain which supports economic growth and meets Bahrain's Economic Vision 2023. Al Musallam praised the Kingdom’s democratic progress during the 2022 national elections that achieved a high tournout and the continuous efforts to advance human rights and national decision-making. Al Saleh affirmed Bahrain’s coexistence values, led by His Majesty the King, and highlighted the Bahrain-US relations and ways to achieve security and stability in the region.
