Speaker lauds royal directives to boost economic growth

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed that backing and stimulating the national economy is a continuous responsibility to overcome challenges, serve the nation and meet citizens' aspirations. She was speaking at the parliamentary economic forum which was held today by the Representatives Council at the Gulf Hotel under the theme "effectiveness of Legislative Work in Stimulating and Supporting the National Economy". The Speaker extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for backing and developing the economic and financial field in Bahrain and keenness on ensuring projects and legislation serve the national and citizens' interests. She pointed out that the current exceptional economic challenges necessitated unprecedented solutions and procedures to handle them. She emphasised the council's resolve to continue taking into consideration priorities of national work and future demands, back reforms and the development goals and support the efforts to achieve fiscal balance, in line with the royal directives. The Representatives Council Speaker expressed thanks and gratitude to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait for their support to Bahrain's efforts to achieve fiscal balance and economic progress.
