Speaker lauds royal pardon

Manama, May 23 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised the royal pardon releasing 154 inmates who served part of their jail terms. She stressed the royal decrees’ contribution to boosting the human rights system in the Kingdom of Bahrain and asserting the reform approach on which the state of law and institutions is based. The Representatives Council Speaker underlined keenness on reforming and rehabilitating the convicts, directing their capabilities and re-integrating them in the community to take part in the nation’s progress and prosperity. She affirmed that the lofty principles of human rights represent an inherent approach and a milestone in the kingdom’s development march spearheaded by HM the King. She also underscored that tolerance, co-existence and human rights have always been characteristic features of the Bahraini society and the national identity.
