Speaker: National report on gender balance reflects royal support, SCW professionalism

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): Speaker of the Representatives Council, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, praised the national report on gender balance (2019-2020) which demonstrated an increase in the gender balance indicator in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 65% (2017-2018) to 69% (2019-2020). The report also has shown an increase in the gender balance indicator in the main national development fields from 70% to 73% in the same period. The institutional performance indicator also went up from 59% to 65%. The Representatives Council Speaker affirmed that the positive results were brought about thanks to the care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and show professionalism of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). She also praised keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on supporting the advancement of Bahraini women and integrating their needs and strategic plans in the government action plan. The Representatives Council Speaker commended the efforts and directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), which reflected on the results of the report. She also underlined keenness of the Representatives Council to boost cooperation with SCW to serve Bahraini women and meet their needs and aspirations.
