Speaker praises Bahraini-Azeri historical relations

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised historical and growing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Azerbaijan under the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She lauded common denominators shared by both countries which can further enhance bilateral relations and promote economic, trade and investment exchange. The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking as she received today ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Bahrain residing in Riyadh, Shahin Abdullayev, in the presence of Head of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al-Buainin. They discussed ways of bolstering relations between the two friendly countries, mainly in the parliamentary field. The Representatives Council Speaker affirmed keenness of the legislative branch to provide every support to boosting relations between both countries, noting readiness of both parties to activate the agreements signed by them and enhance comprehensive cooperation. The Azeri ambassador expressed his country’s keenness on more cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain, commending the pioneering role of the kingdom in achieving stability in the region and its remarkable presence in regional and international parliamentary gatherings. He lauded Bahrain’s democratic and parliamentary march and the great development efforts, pointing out the investment opportunities in both countries, mainly in the fields of food, agriculture and petrochemicals.
