Speaker praises Bahraini-Italian relations

Manama, Jan. 9 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has stressed the importance of the Bahraini-Italian relations in enhancing communication with parliamentary decision-makers in Italy and providing an opportunity to be informed about its deep-rooted democratic and parliamentary experience.   While receiving the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Domenico Pilato, the speaker highlighted the keenness of the two friendly countries’ leaderships to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, calling for more coordination and exchange of expertise with Italy in various fields, especially the parliamentary one.   In this regard, she stressed the need for coordinating stances with the Italian Parliament at various international gatherings and organisations on the events and the challenges the region is currently facing and may affect its security and stability.   She commended the efforts exerted by the Italian Ambassador to strengthen relations between the two countries, praising Italy’s supportive stances towards Bahrain’s efforts to safeguard its security and stability, as well as to face terrorist organisations and groups.   The Italian envoy expressed pride in the level reached by the Bahraini-Italian relations, welcoming efforts to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and activate the joint parliamentary friendship committees.
