Speaker praises HM King’s speech

Manama, Sept.24 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal hailed the keynote speech, which was delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa before the UN General Assembly (UNGA) 75th Session. In a statement today, she described the royal address as representing Bahrain’s message to the world, advocating collective humanitarian action to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). She commended the speech which underscored the values, principles and culture of openness and coexistence between all people worldwide. She underlined in this regard the bold and historic initiative to sign the peace declaration between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel. She stressed Bahrain’s firm commitment to peace and a just and comprehensive settlement which would represent the best guarantee for all people in the region. The Speaker affirmed the King of Bahrain’s unwavering commitment in support of the the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights, stressing the necessity of ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state paradigm, the international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. She highlighted the support of the legislative branch of Government to HM the King’s keynote address, which stresses the need to step up[ cooperation and achieve global peace and promote wide-ranging development. The Speaker paid tribute to HM the King for praising the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the UAE bold step which would revive the peace process in the Middle East. She also commended the crucial role of Egypt in maintaining regional security and stability.
