Speaker receives participating delegations in international forum

Manama, Apr. 11 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed Bahrain's rich and honourable record in the field of voluntary work thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She was speaking as she received today the delegations participating in the 3rd Bahrain International Volunteer Media Forum. She said Bahrain represents a model in human giving and social solidarity, being lofty values preached by Islam and main features of the Bahraini people's identity. She was speaking as she received today the delegations participating in the 3rd Bahrain International Volunteer Media Forum. She said Bahrain represents a model in human giving and social solidarity, being lofty values preached by Islam and main features of the Bahraini people's identity. The Representatives Council Speaker underlined the importance of voluntary work in social development, in tune with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to achieve a better future, boost human civilisation advancement and promote global stability. She also affirmed the need to activate the role of the youth and avail of their potentials in developing voluntary work and fast-tracking growth. She welcomed the participating delegations in the forum, wishing them every success in attaining set up goals. She also praised the role of Bahrain Voluntary Work Society in fostering voluntary work as a culture and civilisational practice. Honorary President of Bahrain Voluntary Work Society Hassan Bu Khammas expressed thanks and appreciation of the role of the Representatives Council in backing non-government institutions, lauding the Speaker's patronage of the 3rd International Volunteer Media Forum which will be held on April 12 and 13 at Al-Ayam Media Centre.
