Speaker receives Saudi ambassador

Manama, Jan. 28 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received today Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al-Shaikh. She stressed keenness to boost cooperation between the Representatives Council and the Saudi Shura Council chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Shaikh. She stressed that this integration and cooperation is in tune with the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both countries. The Representatives Council Speaker lauded deep-rooted fraternal relations between both countries, commending the honourable stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in rejecting foreign interference and providing all forms of support to maintain Bahrain’s security and stability. She said Saudi Arabia is still the bulwark of the Arab and Islamic nations’ security and stability. The Saudi ambassador praised solidarity between both countries, expressing appreciation of the kingdom’s stances towards Saudi Arabia. He also lauded Bahrain’s development and openness, stressing its positive effect on the whole region. He also commended the achievements of Bahraini women, stressing that success of the recent parliamentary and municipal elections reflects the citizens’ confidence in the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the state’s institutions. The Saudi ambassador presented an invitation to the Representatives Council Speaker to visit the Saudi Shura Council to discuss bolstering parliamentary cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
