Speaker receives US Chargé d'Affaires

Manama, July 5 (BNA): Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received US Chargé d'Affaires in Bahrain Ethan Goldrich. Zainal praised the distinguished Bahraini-US relations, and the remarkable cooperation, progress and development they are witnessing in many fields, stressing the parliament's keenness to enhance parliamentary cooperation and support joint projects. She affirmed that the Kingdom has preserved its position in the first category for the fourth year in a row in the field of combating trafficking in persons, according to the annual report issued by the US State Department, which comes as a continuation of the firm approach for the Kingdom in promoting a culture of human rights, and spreading the values and principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Chargé d’Affairs stressed the deep distinguished bilateral relations and the progress and development they have witnessed in various fields, affirming his country's keenness to support partnership and cooperation in parliamentary field in a manner that supports maintaining security and stability in the region and achieves the interests of the two countries.
