Speaker signs memo with Moroccan counterpart

Rabat, Nov. 7 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised the royal directives to promote pan-Arab parliamentary work to face regional challenges. She lauded distinguished strategic historical relations between Bahrain and Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HM King Mohammed VI.
This came in an official parliamentary discussion session which convened today in Rabat under the presidency of the Representatives Council Speaker and her Moroccan counterpart Habib Al Maliki. The meeting was held as part of an official visit by the Representatives Council Speaker and her accompanying delegation to Morocco to discuss ways of boosting cooperation and exchange views on issues of common interest.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between both sides to activate the role of friendship committees and promote bilateral parliamentary cooperation.
For his part, the Moroccan House of Representatives Speaker underlined deep-rooted bilateral relations and his country’s support to Bahrain. He also praised comprehensive development in Bahrain spearheaded by HM the King. He expressed appreciation of Bahrain’s unwavering stance towards Morocco, lauding the advanced status reached by Bahraini women in various fields.
Present in the discussion session were members of the Bahrain-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Committee MPs Isa Al-Qadhi, Isa Al-Dosari, Khalid Bu-Onq and Ammar Qambar as well as Bahraini Ambassador to Morocco Khalid Al Musallam.
