Special Envoy for Climate meets IAEA Technical Director

Vienna, Sept. 23 (BNA): Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, CEO of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) and the National Committee on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling or Use of Chemical Weapons and the Destruction of such Weapons Deputy Chairman Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina met Director of Technical Cooperation Department in the Asia and Pacific Division and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Professor Jane Gerardo-Abaya. The meeting covered matters related to the peaceful uses of atomic energy and ways to enhance cooperation between Bahrain and the IAEA. Bin Daina praised the professor’s efforts in enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom and the IAEA by supporting the development programs adopted by Bahrain to achieve sustainable development goals. The professor expressed her appreciation for Bahrain's continued support to the IAEA and its keenness to implement all technical requirements to develop the programs. She expressed admiration for the Kingdom's achievements, leadership and follow-up of projects despite the challenges the world faced during the pandemic, wishing Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
