Special panel to oversee film production about Wild Boars
BANGKOK, July 21 (TNA) -- Rights proposals to produce films about the Wild Boars football team rescue operation will be overseen by a special panel appointed by the Thai government after five production companies have shown their interests, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam says.
The National Film Board reviewed the production companies’ proposals in its meeting on Thursday and came up with the recommendation to the Cabinet ministers, Wissanu said Friday.
The special film committee would oversee the production, legal matters, accuracy and other sensitive issues in making of a “Wild Boars,” he said.
The mobile Cabinet meeting next week is expected to consider this proposal.
Captivating the world, the cave rescue operation of the Wild Boars members, Moo Pa Academy football club, and its coach who were trapped in flooded Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai has drawn at least five film production companies to contact the Culture Ministry and the Foreign Ministry.
The special panel would only give advice on legal rights to the young footballers and rescuers, not a stakeholder, added Wissanu.
Wissanu also raised concerns over foreign media’s reporting on the boys that could have negative effects on their daily life.
He said he instructed Social Development and Human Security Ministry to prevent harmful media exposure. (TNA)
