S'pore, Thailand Reaffirm Strong Defence Ties

SINGAPORE, June 1 (Bernama) -- Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen and Thailand’s Defence Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat have reaffirmed their countries' strong defence ties and close cooperation. The reaffirmation was made during a meeting when Sukumpol called on Dr Ng at the Ministry of Defence Friday. Sukumpol, who is in Singapore on an introductory visit from Thursday to Sunday, will also call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean later Friday and on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong Saturday. He will also attend the 11th Shangri-La Dialogue this weekend. -- BERNAMA
