Stolen car returned to Malaysia

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has returned a 10-million baht Mercedez Benz to its Malaysian owner, after the high-end vehicle was stolen and smuggled into the Thai territory more than two years ago. The S350 Mercedez Benz, owned by Alliance General Insurance Malaysia, Co., Ltd., was stolen in mid-2012 and smuggled into Thailand on October 13, 2012, with a fake document showing the model of the car as S550 to avoid detection. Police Lieutenant Colonel Korawat Parnprapakorn, Commander of DSI's Information and Technology Crime Office, returned the stolen vehicle to the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok on Monday, after Fauzi Khan Ismail, Minister Counsellor at the Malaysian Embassy and a police coordinator, who represented the owner of the stolen car, contacted DSI to bring back the smuggled vehicle.
