Strengthening of fighting against criminality and corruption

Astana, September 03 2009, Khabar – Deputies discuss initiatives that were expressed by the President at the opening of Parliamentary session. One of the main tasks for the deputies is to adopt bills directed for improving of activity of legislative bodies, strengthening of fighting against criminality and corruption. Fighting against bribe taking must be carried out at all levels stressed the President at opening of new session of Parliament. And the deputies must consider several important anti-corruption bills.

Berik Bekzhanov, Majilis deputy of Parliament of RK:
- The Parliament will soon receive a bill about scientific, anti-corruption expertise of laws and under law acts and this means that large-scale fighting against corruption is underway.

The Majilis deputies already approved the bill that had been initiated by the head of the state and directed for further strengthening of fighting against corruption and shade economy. Currently the Senate discusses this document. The deputies increased sum of fine and introduced such punishment as confiscation of property.
Fighting against corruption must be carried out according to all judicial procedures and strict accordance with the law. This task was set up by the President before the law enforcement agencies. Senator Serik Akylbai considers anti-corruption legislation needs thorough systematization and it is necessary to found scientific institution that would elaborate qualitative bills.
But the deputies say corruption can’t be annihilated without support of society. First of all Kazakhstani citizens must know their rights and fight for them.

Oralbai Abdykarimov, Senate deputy of Parliament of RK:
- Actions of “Nur Otan” directed for helping the law enforcement agencies and annihilating this evil. I should say that purposeful work is realized in this sphere during last 2 years and it gives slow but concrete results. Sociological polls confirm that work became systematic and people began more addressing with their signals.
