Study on 'Feena Khair' campaign published by British magazine

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, received the Assistant Professor of Accounting at Ahlia University, Dr. Adel Sarea, who presented him with a copy of his academic study, published by the UK-based Emerald Publishing, on the “Feena Khair” Campaign. The campaign was launched by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to support the efforts of the Government Executive Committee, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to combat the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Dr. Al-Sayed commended the efforts exerted by Dr. Adel Sarea in the field of academic research, praising his keenness to document the distinguished cohesion between HM the King’s leadership and the citizens through the “Feena Khair” campaign which achieved a great success in supporting the national efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic, as well in translating the royal interest in taking care of all the citizens and residents into the ground. Dr. Adel Sarea lauded HH Shaikh Nasser’s leadership of the “Feena Khair” Campaign, and the crucial role he has played in ensuring its success at the economic, social and cultural levels, noting that the campaign has gained a global reputation, making it a living example of the leadership-citizens cohesion and solidarity that deserves to be documented. He valued highly the major role played by the RHF and Dr. Al-Sayed, the “Feena Khair” campaign Chairman, in ensuring the success of the charitable campaign. He said that the joint study, entitled “Guide to giving during the COVID-19 pandemic: the moderating role of religious belief on donor attitude”, and published by Emerald Publishing’s “International Journal of Ethics and Systems”, documented the “Feena Khair” experience at the international level. He said that the study aimed to explore donors’ responses to fundraising appeals to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis in Bahrain, and examine how the internal and external aspects can fuel beliefs in the inclination of donors to give money. The study found that charity projects and trust in charities have a significant relationship with donors’ attitudes toward fundraising appeal for the COVID-19 fight. It also stressed that governments and NGOs should consider the important role of religious beliefs in driving people’s attitudes to engage in fundraising appeals to fight the pandemic. Dr. Adel Sarea was granted the “Emerald Literati Award for Excellence” by Emerald Publishing, published a book on the pandemic, and wrote several articles about the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19.
