Supreme Council for Women signs agreement with Woodrow Wilson Center

Manama, Nov.15 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has today signed a work agreement with Washington-based Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Under the deal, the two sides will exchange expertise and studies and hold women-related specialized seminars.
SCW Secretary-General Hala Al Ansari said that the two parties to the agreement will hold a series of discussions to shed light on the issues of Bahraini women and the countries of the region within the articles, blogs and publications of the Center
The two sides will also cooperate in implementing the second part of the research project on "The Ability to Lead: Women in the Middle East and North Africa", which is among the center's most prominent publications aimed at diagnosing and analyzing the reality of women's empowerment within the geographical scope of the report.
Based on this agreement, Bahrain will provide the center with information and data to prepare a case study on an aspect of women’s empowerment in the Kingdom, as part of the comparisons included in the report for the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
The deal will also provide an opportunity to exchange qualitative practices in the field of providing comparisons, relying on more realistic scientific methodologies to measure women’s progress, in relation to indicators of development and economic competitiveness.
Al-Ansari expressed her hope that this agreement will be the beginning of a fruitful and long-term relationship with the Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Chief Executive Ambassador Mark Green said that the agreement with the Supreme Council for Women will help the center to get a deep insight about Bahrain’s approach to women's advancement, describing this experience as being advanced in the Middle East.
“Bahrain is a strategic ally of the United States of America, and there are many positive developments taking place in this country. We are keen to publicise this progress, especially in the American capital, Washington.”, said Ambassador Green.
