Supreme Environment Council receives UK ambassador

Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE)’s CEO Dr. .Mohammed Mubarak Bin Dainah, received UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Simon Martin. Dr. Bin Dainah expressed the council’s keenness and intent to increase the cooperation with the United Kingdom on environmental matters and boost the joint projects and programmes as well as preparation of joint plan for activities of the British Environmental Week that coincides with Bahrain Environment Day marked on February 4 to protect the environment from plastic pollutants. The ambassador commended the council's role to preserve the environment locally and globally, through its diverse programmes and activities. He also commended the persistent efforts and supportive stances adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding international environmental dossiers as well as organising and participating in environmental conferences, workshops, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity and to boost the cooperation between the two friendly nations in all fields, including the environmental field.
