Sustainable Energy Authority President visits Abu Dhabi Masdar City

Abu Dhabi, Jan. 12 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza, today paid a visit to the “Masdar City” for renewable energy, on the sidelines of his participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, currently held here. He was welcomed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company’s officials, who briefed him about “Masdar City”’s facilities, as well as its role in diversifying the local economy and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the sector of sustainable energy. Dr. Mirza said that Msadar and its research centre represent a perfect local and international platform for the renewable energy sector, as well as for developing clean technology and innovation. He stressed the importance of cooepration to enhance sustainable development through adopting renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions, adding that Masdar City is a realistic model for the application of clean energy. He stressed that his visit aims to shed light on the leading role played by the UAE and Bahrain regarding their commitment to their international pledges in achieving sustainable development goals, encouraging the use of clean energy, preserving natural resources and taking measures to address the repercussions of climate change. He pointed out that Bahrain’s Sustainable Development Authority will continue its cooperation with Abu Dhabi Masdar City to take advantage of its experience in developing renewable energy and energy efficiency to make the region’s countries a distinguished centre for perfect use of sustainable energy.
