Szymborska poem book to be released in Iran soon

Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA -- A collection of poems composed by the Polish Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska-Włodek titled ‘Nothing Twice’ translated into Persian by Malihe Baharloo will be released by Cheshmeh Publications. In an interview with IBNA, Baharloo said: “This collection comprises all poems by Szymborska in different periods of her career which had already been translated into English. It took me three years to finish the translation.” “Although simply two collections of poems by Szymborska have already been published in Persian but she is extremely known in Iran and a number of young Iranian poets have been influenced by her,” she added. Known in her country as 'Mozart of Poetry”, Szymborska was born July 2, 1923 and passed away on February 1, 2012. The poetess had only published 200 pieces of poetry when she received the Nobel Prize in Literature (1996). The Nobel’s panel of juries labeled her as 'Mozart of Poetry' since she had begun to compose poems from the age of 4 and stated: “Her poetry … with ironic precision, allows the historical and biological context to come to light in fragments of human reality.' She also received the Order of the White Eagle, one of the highest Polish official decorations. In 1999 Szymborska was selected as one of the ten living popular poets of the world, however, despite her popularity, she eschewed public spotlight. In addition to English, the poems of Szymborska have been translated into several European languages, as well as Arabic, Chinese and Japanese.
