Tajik Air Flights To Tehran Not Stopped: Envoy

Dushanbe, Oct 14, IRNA – Tajik Air flights to Tehran have not stopped and there is no change in the usual flights between the two countries, Iran's Ambassador to Dushanbe Ali-Asghar Sherdoust said here on Saturday. He made the remarks in an interview with IRNA. 'Tajik Air's ticket for Dushanbe-Tehran flight cancelled on last Tuesday because of some dis-harmonies between the related officials in the two capitals but Tajik Air's Saturday flight departed Dushanbe for Tehran with full capacity on time.' The official underlined that there are four-day round trip flights per week between Tehran and Dushanbe which involves the Aseman Airlines flights on Monday and Thursday as well as the Tajik Air flights on Saturday and Tuesday. 'There is also a charter flight between Iran and Tajikistan per week; Tajik Air flight did its latest flight from Dushanbe to Tehran on October 13. According to dispatches, a spokesman for the Tajik state airline TajikAir, speaking on condition of anonymity has also denied on Friday, the information that it intends to postpone flights to Tehran (Iran) for an indefinite period. 'Two flights to Iran are made every week on Tuesday and Saturday,' he said. The Western propaganda machine had allegedly reported that TajikAir decided to postpone the flights to the capital of Iran for an indefinite period because of the sharp depreciation of the Iranian rial (IRR) to major world currencies. The Tajik government airline Tajik Air was founded on 3rd September 1924 in Dushanbe under the former name Tajikistan Airlines. The airline was renamed in 2007. Tajiki Air’s network of routes includes several cities in Asia and Europe, served regularly from its base in Dushanbe, such as Almaty, Ekaterinburg, Bishkek, Khudzhand, Novosibirsk, Samara, Sharjah, Tehran, Urumqi and Moscow. Iran Aseman Airlines is an airline based in Tehran, Iran, operating scheduled domestic and regional flights within the Persian Gulf area, as well as charter and air taxi services.
