Tajikistan shows much interest in Customs Union, Eurasian Economic Union - Russian Federation Council speaker

DUSHANBE, March 13 (Itar-Tass) - Tajikistan shows much interest in the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, speaker of the Russian Federation Council, upper house of parliament, Valentina Matviyenko said. “Tajikistan is studying, observing and thinking. As a sovereign state it has the right to take a decision on its own,” Matviyenko said after a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov on Thursday. “The Economy Ministry and other agencies are calculating the effects of Tajikistan’s accession to the Customs Union. Till now a decision has not been taken,” she said, adding “We hope that Tajikistan’s decision will be positive.”
