Tamkeen's role in fast-tracking growth stressed

Manama, Sep. 24 (BNA): Chief Executive of the Labour Fund Authority (Tamkeen) Dr. Ibrahim Janahi has stressed that Tamkeen was established to back human resources development by upgrading skills and capabilities of the individuals and supporting companies in order to boost economic development and fast-track growth. In an interview with Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Dr. Janahi underscored Tamkeen’s keenness to map out programmes and support projects aimed at promoting sustainability and competitiveness at work. He pointed out that the programmes of Tamkeen are subject to periodic assessment to ensure utmost benefit from them and evaluate their contribution to developing human resources and companies as well as upgrading performance and services. He added by backing the private sector, Tamkeen is promoting a unique experience which is one of the main dividends of the government’s strategy to develop the private sector and enhance its attractiveness for investments. Dr. Janahi emphasised that Tamkeen is considered a real story of success for Bahrain not only at the regional level but also at the international one given the size of investments and programmes it is running. He pointed out the capability of development with many individuals and families moving from running small enterprises to running medium ones.
