TAT drafts tourism marketing plan for 2019
BANGKOK, July 2 (TNA) -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand or TAT has called in managers and officials from all its global branches to attend the TAT Action Plan 2019 meeting in Bangkok.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat chaired the TAT Action Plan 2019 meeting today in which all senior TAT officers from all its global branches attended.
The aim of the meeting is to pool inputs and viewpoints from all its representatives so that an up-to-date marketing plan and a comprehensive international tourism masterplan can be formulated.
Mr Weerasak stated that the viewpoints of its foreign based managers who are directly involved with international tourism industries is key for a realistic analysis of international tourism trends that continuously change.
Besides working to formulate a strategic marketing and action plan it was also decided that a fundamental increase in digital marketing must be employed if the goals for the development of secondary tourist destinations is to be achieved.
The TAT Action Plan 2019 meeting is slated to run from July 2 to 5. Some of the priority items on the agenda are the reinforcement of the TAT's existing Amazing Thailand and Amazing Thai Thay campaigns which has garnered positive results and the introduction of turnkey tour packages as well as specialised packages for niche markets.
After the conclusion of the meeting TAT will be making an announcement on July 9 to reveal its plans to give an official heads up to other related government departments as well as private sector tourism operators. (TNA)
