Tehran to host two Quranic calligraphy expos

TEHRAN,July 18(MNA) – A collection of Quranic calligraphy works by fifty eminent Iranian artists will be put on display at two expos, which will open in Tehran in August. Gholamhossein Amirkhani, Einollah Sadeqzadeh, Esrafil Shirchi and Karam-Ali Shirazi are among the artists, whose works will be showcased at the expos. The first expo is scheduled to open at the Niavaran Cultural Center on August 3. It will run until August 9. The artworks of the expo will be transferred to another, which will open at Milad Tower on August 14. After a weeklong show, the collection will go under hammer in an auction to be led by veteran cinema and stage actor Jamshid Mashayekhi, organizer of the expo Mohammadreza Kamareii said in a press release on Tuesday. The collection also includes calligraphy works by Iranian First Vice President Mohammadreza Rahimi.
