TEHRAN,June 26(MNA) – The Tehran Illustration Biennial will be coming back after an 11-years hiatus, this time focusing on the theme of “The World of Lights and Shadows”. In a press conference held at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMCA) on Tuesday, the secretary of the biennial Kianush Gharibpur elaborated on different sections of the 6th edition of the biennial. Illustrations from books published between the years 2003 to 2013 for both children and young adults can take part in the competition section of the biennial, he said. In the second section of the biennial, illustrators can submit their works with the central theme of lights and shadows. Dreams, shadows, and tales of fairies are good examples of the world of lights and shadows. Moreover, interested young illustrators aged 18 to 25 who have not published their works in any book can also participate in the youth section, in which they are asked to illustrate classical Persian literature. All the interested applicants can submit their works to the secretariat before September 5. Selected illustrations will later go on display in an exhibition that will open at (TMCA) on October 16 and run until November 22. The best selected works will be awarded during a ceremony scheduled to be held on October 24 .
