Thai, Chinese youths exchange culture

BANGKOK, September 2 (TNA) - Nearly a hundred students from Thailand will be in China until next Sunday, with their showcase of Thai kickboxing, dance and fine arts, as part of a cultural exchange programme aimed at keeping close ties between the two nations. The so-called “Youth Bridge of Friendship” follows Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s official visit to China earlier in April when the programme was initiated. Leading the students, Samartchai Jomwinya, deputy director-general of Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups, said the exchange would help prepare Thai students internationally, particularly before ahead of the ASEAN Community in 2015. Meanwhile, this December will see a total of 100 Chinese students coming to Thailand to exhibit cultural shows as part of the exchange programme.(TNA)
