Thai eastern region flooded

BANGKOK, September 18 (TNA) - The flooding situation in the east of Thailand is still severe, with many schools in Prachinburi province under water, and Sa keow province declaring many districts as floods stricken zone. Many schools in Bin Buri district of Prachinburi have been heavily flooded, prompting teachers to evacuate their classes and temporarily teach at a close by temple's pavilion instead. Flash floods in the province also flooded some temples in the province, propelling monks of the temple to move the belongings and trees to higher grounds, while also building a temporary wooden bridge for the locals to visit the temple to make merits. The provincial office, in the meantime, has ordered relevant agencies to quickly assist those affected by the floods. Another province under high risk of the flood is Sa keow, especially the Rong Klue and Aranyaprathet markets, which were affected last last night by flash floods of 1.5 metres deep. The province has now declared 6 districts disaster stricken areas, with Aranprathet district being the worst hit. (TNA)
