Thai Far South trains to fully resume operations July 13

BANGKOK, July 12 (TNA) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has confirmed that trains on the Far South route, linking Yala with Su-ngai Golok in Narathiwat Province will resume fully services on July 13. SRT Governor Wutthichart Kalayanamitr made the confirmation on Tuesday, after the railway section, between Ba Loh Station in Yala Province and Rue Soh Station in Naratiwat, was damaged by a bomb attack of suspected insurgents on July 4. Wutthichart said after the bombing, SRT has integrated cooperation from all local agencies concerned to repair the damaged tracks to ensure safety for both trains and passengers and the maintenance has already been completed and the tracks are now ready for full train-service resumption. Meanwhile, local Muslim people have joined mass prayers for peace in the southernmost Thai region, showing their call for public awareness on the importance of train services with convenience and reasonable fares.
