Thai "Isaan" food go to world kitchen

BANGKOK, September 17 (TNA) - Local food in the Thai Northeast, also called "Isaan", has now been promoted to go to the world kitchen, with Nakhon Ratchasima, or Korat, being the first Thai province having enjoyed the government's support. Industry Minister Prasert Boonchaisook presided over the Korat Cuisine:A Taste of Thai gala dinner on Monday evening, during which Nakhon Ratchasima's local food, also known as Korat food, was served in a modern fashion, saying that the event was aimed at encouraging local business operators to improve their food quality and at promoting Thailand's regional cuisine. Prasert acknowledged that the promotion of Korat food is part of the government’s Thai Kitchen to the World project, and that the government will later hold such dinners to promote local food in other Thai regions.
